An alert has been issued by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) for a specific batch of The Galway Kitchen brand houmous which has been recalled due to incorrect information on the packaging.
Their The Galway Kitchen Classic Houmous has been recalled due to an incorrect use-by date.

The FSAI has warned that consuming the houmous after December 24 may " pose a microbiological risk which may make the batch unsafe to eat".

The public notice added that "consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batch after the 24th December 2025."
The effected batch that is being subject to the recall is The Galway Kitchen Classic Houmous 200 gram pack with the incorrectly labelled use by date of 19/01/2026.
Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale and retailers are requested to remove the implicated batch from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale.
