A mother from County Carlow recently had a horrifying experience on a flight home from Krakow that put the life of her young daughter at serious risk.

16-year-old Hallie Nolan is allergic to nuts, eggs, sesame seeds, pollen and dust.

Lisa Nolan, Hallie's mother, made sure that an announcement was made to all passengers so that they were aware of the dangers of eating nuts while Hallie was onboard the flight.

Despite this announcement being made, one passenger did not hear the announcement or chose to ignore it, according to Newstalk.

Lisa was on Newstalk recently to call for the ban of nuts in enclosed spaces after the horrifying incident occurred to her young teenage girl.

Lisa said that it was lucky had her Anapen or "she would have been dead" after going into anaphylaxis shock on the flight.

Lisa, in a post on Facebook, made an announcement after the scary incident to warn others of how unsafe it is to eat nuts around someone who is allergic.

"Even after all of the warning announcements that were made, a selfish woman decided she was going to eat a bag of nuts which sent Hallie in to anaphylaxis, luckily for us the injection kicked in and saved her and they offered an emergency landing".

The mother said that they had special assistance waiting for them after they landed along with paramedics and she thanked every single person they met who "went above and beyond" to help them.

"The point of this post is yet again awareness...nuts need to be banned from all flights and people need to be more aware that having nuts on a flight can kill someone and that could have been Hallie if we didn't have the life saving medication!".
