Troy Parrott mania: Ireland erupts with memes, ‘rebrands’ and online chaos after heroics

Troy Parrott has stolen the hearts of the nation after scoring a hat-trick in the Ireland V Hungary game on Sunday last.

Parrott's last goal was scored in the last few seconds of the game shocking the crowds and securing a place for Ireland in the World Cup play-offs.

Ireland won the game 3-2 in Budapest, causing chaos, joy and celebrations across Ireland with people praising Parrott for his outstanding play.

Dublin Airport has made a special tribute to the Irish footballer by rebranding their name to 'Troy Parrott International Airport'.

The Late Late Show did the same thing by changing their name to The Late Late Troy Show on social media as well.

The Irish people are in awe over the footballer and there has been widespread appreciation for him across social media.

Dublin Airport caught Irish fans on their way back from the game and asked them what they thought of the experience.

The post on X said, "fresh off the plane and still buzzing - we grabbed the first Ireland fans returning from the Hungary match to hear their instant reactions!".

The first young man said: "it was unbelievable....best thing I've been at in my entire life....".

Other people in the video clip said "it was a long time coming" and "it was one of those kind of magical days".

A man in the video said that "the place just went ballistic" after Parrott scored the final winning goal of the game.
