Investigations underway as body of man (40s) discovered in Cork

Gardaí in Cork have said they are investigating all circumstances following the discovery of a man’s body in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Gardaí in Mallow are investigating the death of a man, aged in his 40s following the discovery of a body at Rockview Terrace, Doneraile, Mallow, Co. Cork in the early hours of this morning Sunday, October 12.

The Assistant State Pathologist, Dr. Margot Bolster has been contacted to attend the scene where the body of the deceased remains.

A senior investigating office has been appointed to lead the investigation and an incident room has been established at Mallow Garda Station.

The Garda Technical Bureau has been requested to attend the scene and a family liaison officer has been assigned to provide support to the family.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them and are seeking any available camera footage, including dashcam recordings, from those who were in the vicinity of Doneraile village, Mallow, Co. Cork this morning from 12 midnight to 2am Sunday 12th October, 2025. 

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Mallow Garda Station on 022 31 450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

A garda spokesperson has said that "investigations are ongoing".
