The FSAI have warned that people infected with Listeria monocytogenes can produce symptoms such as mild flu-like symptoms or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.
In rare cases, the infection can be more severe causing serious health complications. Some people are usually more vulnerable to the infection such as pregnant women, babies and people with weakened immune systems including the elderly.
The incubation period between infection and when symptoms begin to show is on average 3 weeks but can range between 3 and 70 days.
The FSAI is urging customers to return the implicated batch if found immediately and not to eat them under any circumstances.
