The driver could now potentially face up to a €5,000 fine and a 2-years disqualification
Gardai say the driver of a 'large SUV' which was seized earlier this week is facing prosecution before the courts.
In a post on social media, they say members of Naas Roads Policing Unit in Kildare impounded the Range Rover at a local checkpoint, after it was established the driver did not have insurance.
The incident happened on the R401 in Bracknagh, North Kildare. The serious offence can warrant a possible penalty-fine of €5,000 and 2 year disqualification.
Gardai say the penalty to be imposed on the driver of the Range Rover Sport will be decided at an upcoming court appearance, with the date to be confirmed.

It adds to a hectic few days for the Naas Roads policing Unit as they observed a van driver with a phone in one hand and a cigarette in the other hand on Monday evening, September 16.
The driver of the vehicle was already had 9 points on his license and is now facing disqualification from driving. There's also a fixed charge penalty notice of €160 issued and three penalty points.
