An intoxicated learner driver has been arrested and charged following a single-car crash in Camolin, Wexford.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, September 7, members of the Gorey Roads Policing Unit responded to a report regarding this road traffic collision.
Upon attending the scene, Gardaí discovered that the driver was in-fact a Learner Permit holder. They also failed a roadside breath test.
The driver was arrested and brought to a Garda Station in the county where they provided a sample.
The sample in question was over five times the legal alcohol limit.
The individual has since been charged and will appear before the District Court.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána in Wexford commented on this, saying, "Never drink and drive. The consequences can be devastating."
