ALERT: Major Irish retailers recall children's swim vests amid drowning fears

TK Maxx and Homesense have issued a recall of Children's Swim Vests due to the risk of drowning

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) is advising consumers that two well-known Irish retailers TK Maxx and Homesense have issued a recall notice on children's swim vests due to the possible risk of drowning. 

The affected products have an incorrectly applied CE mark as they have not been tested to the required safety levels. 

Patterns and designs may include: whales, dinosaurs, sharks, starfish, unicorns, crabs, fish, juice floats or seahorses. Swim vest may or may not have goggles attached.

The product codes on the price ticket and customer receipt for swim vests included in the recall are the following: 

819852, 819853, 819854,819855,819856, 819857, 819864, 819865, 819866, 819867, 819868, 819869,819870,819871, 819884, 819885, 819886, 819887, 819888, 819889, 819904, 819905, 819906, 819907,819908, 819909,819910, 819911, 819912, 819913, 819914, 819915. 

According to the CCPC, there are approximately 153 affected products in the Republic of Ireland. 

The recalled swim vests were sold between April and August 2025. 

Customers are advised to stop using the affected products immediately and return the swim vests to any TK Maxx or Homesense store for a full refund.
