An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is underway and gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
A young man who was seriously injured in a road crash over the bank holiday weekend has died from his injuries, gardai have confirmed.
The single-vehicle incident happened on the L1029 road at Deerpark, Lixnaw, County Kerry shortly after 5.30pm on Saturday, August 2.
"The driver, an adult male aged in his late teens, and sole occupant of the car was airlifted to Cork University Hospital. He was pronounced deceased this (Wednesday) morning," said a garda spokesperson who added that Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have completed an examination of the scene.

Any road users who may have dash-cam and who were travelling in the area on Saturday, between 5.15pm and 5.45pm, are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.

Investigations are ongoing.
