A driver has died in a road collision in Co Offaly, gardai confirmed.
The man, who was aged in his 30s and was the only occupant of the vehicle, was killed in the crash at Ballina Cross, Annaharvey in Tullamore, on Monday.
The collision happened at around 11.50pm.
No other injuries were reported, gardai said.
The body of the man was taken to the mortuary in the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore for a post-mortem examination.
The R420 between Geashill and Cloncollig Roundabout, Tullamore, has been closed for a technical examination to be carried out by Garda forensic collision investigators. Local diversions are in place.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage, including dashcam, and were travelling in the area between around 11.40pm and midnight are asked to make the footage available to gardai.
