Home and Away star John Palmer aka Shane Withington sampled a piece of Irish life this week, visiting Kilkenny Castle before stopping off for some lunch in Kytelers Inn.
Withington joined the Home and Away cast in 2009 as the lovable but at times contrary John Palmer.
Over his 16 years on the Australian soap, the character has had two wives, owned the Surf Club, adopted a son and even committed arson!
Let's hope his stay in Kilkenny was a little more peaceful and not like a soap opera...
