Laois Roads Policing Unit, caught a learner motorbike driver driving at 180 km/h in Arles and eventually stopped the driver on the outskirts of Carlow Town, as reported by Carlow Live.
Not only was the driver speeding at 180 km/h but the driver also failed a roadside drug test for cannabis.
The incident was posted on An Garda Síochána Laois/Offaly's Facebook page on May 17th 2025.

The post from An Garda Síochána reads:
"Laois Roads Policing Unit detected this motorcycle speeding through Arles village on the N80 late last night. It was followed and recorded traveling at speeds well in excess of 180kph before it was stopped on the outskirts of Carlow town. The driver, a Learner Permit holder was arrested after failing a roadside drug test for Cannabis. This driver has been charged to appear before an upcoming sitting at Carlow District Court."
