A man in his 60s has been killed in a tragic single-vehicle crash in Co Galway on Friday night.
Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene at Blackacre, near Tuam, shortly after 10.30pm on Friday night.
The driver, the sole occupant of the car, was found unresponsive at the scene. He was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Galway where he was later pronounced dead.
The local road remains closed this morning, Saturday, as Garda collision investigators carry out a forensic examination. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí have notified the local coroner and a post-mortem will be arranged.
An appeal has been issued for witnesses and road users who may have dash-ca footage from the Blackacre area around the time of the incident.
