Fire fighter Carrick saving Biscuit the cat's life
Dublin Firefighters from Dolphins Barn rescued Biscuit the cat from a house fire in Ballyfermot on the evening of Tuesday January 28.
The cat was located by a BA crew and was unconscious at the time the fire brigades arrived at the scene.
Firefighter Carrick placed a pet oxygen mask on Biscuit and after 10 minutes, Biscuit was snuggling into it's owner.
A budgie and dog were also taken to safety from the fire and didn't require oxygen therapy.
We are trialling pet oxygen masks, Dublin Fire Brigade said, which are on 9 fire appliances, in two districts, Dublin Fire Brigade said.
We are working with @VillageVets to introduce them across the city, the fire brigade said.

One person on X commented, " Pets are family too, wonderful initiative".
Another person said, "Well done all. You’re an amazing bunch and I love this new initiative. Animals can be a great support to people who’ve gone through a devastating event such as loosing their home to fire".
