RIP Cherry Tomato Bridge: Pizza Bridge might just be Ireland's next foodie landmark!
In memory of Dublin's short-lived 'Cherry Tomato Bridge', Apache Pizza in Carlow created the newest sensation in Ireland's foodie landmarks.
Earlier this week, a bridge in Drumcondra unexpectedly went viral when it was transformed into a shrine to cherry tomatoes.
The craze started out after some vegetables got stuck to the bridge during the country's cold snap. It soon evolved into Ireland's latest sensation, with people paying homage to tomatoes.
Now, Carlow Town is the latest place to get in on the fun.

The page first took off when people were challenged to take part in a 2 foot pizza challenge for a cash prize. The pizza eating contest racked up thousands of views online and since then Apache Carlow has only become even more of a sensation.
On Tuesday evening, they posted a teaser on TikTok for people to meet at Graiguecullen Bridge at around 6pm for a surprise giveaway.
Low and behold, it was revealed that the bridge which joins Carlow and Laois was covered in free slices of pizza in an ode to Cherry Tomato Bridge.
Crowds of young people gathered at the bridge to grab a free slice of pizza.
Apache Carlow thanked everyone online for making 'Pizza Bridge' a great success and it has since had thousands of likes on TikTok.
One person commented on the tribute to the cherry tomato bridge, saying: "A show of respect from Carlow Apache Pizza. A very classy gesture."
With not a slice of pizza left to be seen, maybe the bridge won't turn into Ireland's latest food shrine after all.
