An investigation has been launched after a woman was found dead in Cork on Friday morning.
The woman, aged in her 30s, was found at a home in Bridewell Lane, Mallow.
Assistant state pathologist Dr Margot Bolster has attended the scene and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out at Cork University Hospital.
The Garda Technical Bureau has also been requested to attend the scene.
A senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation and an incident room has been established at Mallow Garda Station.
A family liaison officer has also been assigned to provide support.
An appeal has been issued for witnesses and for any footage from people who were in the vicinity of Bridewell Lane, Mallow, between 9pm on Thursday night and at 10am on Friday morning.
