The number of refugees from Ukraine living in Ireland is up 16 per cent on the same period last year, according to the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
It found there were 109,566 people from Ukraine who were beneficiaries of temporary protection last month.
It’s an increase of more than 10,000 since early October 2023, when the total number of arrivals was 96,338.
The figure is based on PPS number allocations given to Ukrainian beneficiaries of temporary protection since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Women aged over 20 years made up 46 per cent of those arriving, while men over 20 made up 24 per cent.
Of all arrivals to date aged 18 years and over, 62 per cent of men and just under half (48 per cent) of women were married or cohabiting.
Today's release from the CSO includes an analysis of Ukrainian arrivals who are availing of support and services from the Department of Social Protection.
The report found that 10,274 arrivals from Ukraine were enrolled in further education and training courses on October 1 of this year, of which 6,636 were enrolled in further education English language courses.
Meanwhile, 46,668 arrivals had attended an employment support event arranged by Intreo Public Employment Services.
Of those, 56 per cent noted that English language proficiency was a challenge in securing employment.
Kenmare in Co Kerry had the highest number of arrivals from Ukraine at 2,783.
