From a new study by Word Finder X shows two Irish names in the top 20 but a surprising one takes the cake
Irish names often cause confusion to those not familiar with them, but apparently one Irish name is sticking point to those globally.
In a new study by WordFinder X that set out to find the world's most mispronounced names. The study aimed to achieve this by researching how many times the names had been listened to on Forvo.com, an online pronunciation library.

Studying a list of 12,768 names, and surprisingly names like Siobhan and Tadhg not making the list.
The worlds most mispronounced name is Sean. In a crazy turn of events, a name that no one in Ireland would even consider being the most mispronounced Irish name, nevermind the world's most mispronounced name.
Sean had 1 million plays on the online library taking the cakes by almost a 200,000 play margin to the Basque name Xuxa and Latin origin name Victoria.
In the top 20 Irish name Saoirse also pops in at 20th place with almost 300,000 plays.
Just across the Irish sea, the most mispronounced name of English origin is Anne coming in with 343,000.
Looking then at just Ireland's top 5 most mispronounced, the top 5 is made up by Liam, Ryan, Siobhan, and of course Saoirse and Sean.
