A teenager has died following a tragic incident that occurred yesterday in North Kilkenny.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to an incident in Freshford yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.
Gardaí confirmed that a male youth, in his teens, later passed away at the scene.
They have also stated that the Health and Safety Authority 'has been notified and will conduct its own investigation'.

Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council, Michael McCarthy, who is from Freshford, told Kilkenny Live that the village and the wider community are in 'a state of shock' following the incident.
"It's incredibly sad," he said. "The family are well-known and respected in the area and our thoughts and prayers are with them at this incredibly difficult time."
