The family of a 2024 Rose of Tralee contestant have said they are hugely concerned after Monica Reid went missing on Friday.
Police in New Zeland have released an alert over the missing 26-year-old who was last month selected as the 2024 Auckland Rose of Tralee. She is due to compete in the famous festival in Tralee in August.

A police report says: "Police are urgently seeking sightings of Monica, aged 26. Monica has been reported missing by her family and there are concerns for her welfare.
"She was last seen on Friday afternoon (June 14) in Matipo Road, Te Atatu Peninsula and is believed to be wearing a purple/pink puffer jacket.

"If you think you may have seen Monica since yesterday afternoon, or have information which might help us find her, please call 111 and quote event number P059054868."
Monica's family members have also taking to social media in a desperate attempt to locate Monica.

Her sister posted: "My sister Monica Reid is missing. We are concerned and the police have been contacted. Please keep an eye out for her. She was last seen in Te Atatu in Auckland."
Their posts have been shared far and wide with one person commenting: "I met Monica up here through Rose of Tralee - we have shared with the Auckland Irish club and all the other roses. We are all so worried, sending you guys love and support and please let us know if there's anything more we can do to help."
