As a result of a targeted intelligence led investigation, Gardaí attached to the Dublin Crime Response Team (DCRT) conducted a search operation in Clondalkin, Dublin 22 this evening Wednesday, May, 15, 2024.
During the course of the search one Skorpion sub-machine gun, a silencer and ammunition were recovered and seized.
A male and female, aged in their 30s were arrested in relation to possession of firearms and are currently detained.
They are held pursuant to the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939/98, at Garda Stations in Dublin.
Investigations are ongoing.
