Elderly woman seriously injured in Dundalk attack 10 days ago dies in hospital

An elderly woman who was seriously injured in an attack in the Glenwood Estate 10 days ago has died in hospital.

The woman, who was in her 80s, was being treated for “serious injuries” in a Dublin hospital. She was one of three women assaulted during the attack at a house in Glenwood on Friday, May 3.

The two other women, aged in their 40s and 70s, were also injured in the same incident. 

A 47-year-old man appeared before Dundalk District Court last week charged in connection with the attack.

Nicholas Muckian with an address at Glenwood, Dundalk is charged with three counts of assault causing harm, at the same location, in Glenwood on May 3. 

He is further charged with unlawfully intimidating another person with a hatchet at the same location on the same date.
