A bird who has been trapped in a Dublin Airport terminal for the last couple of weeks has finally departed.
Dublin Airport confirmed the news yesterday (April 23) through their official X (formerly Twitter) account by posting a video about the bird, who they affectionately named Charlie.
An accompanying caption reads: "Today is hunky dory for our T1 bird, Charlie, as his T1 adventures have come to an end. The best take off of the day."
According to Dublin Airport, Charlie has spent weeks "keeping an eye on departures" and enjoying "a lot of snacks", such as Hunky Dorys and juice at Jump Juice.
The narrator in the video explained that Charlie was released outside "to join his friends again".
In the video, a staff member said, "Another good news day from Dublin Airport, we have finally captured and safely released our furry friend from Pier 1, so he's just departed there now on his departure from Dublin Airport and hopefully it's his first and last departure.
"We wish him a safe and onward journey."
