A murder investigation has been launched into the death of Michael Foley in Co Cork.
The 61-year-old was found dead in his home in Macroom on Tuesday afternoon.
A post-mortem examination was completed on Wednesday evening by State pathologist Dr Margot Bolster at Cork University Hospital.
Gardai said the results of the post-mortem are not being released for operational reasons.
The scene continued to be examined on Wednesday evening.
The probe is being led by a Senior Investigating Officer and a Garda officer has been appointed to liaise with the dead man’s family.
Gardai are appealing to those who may have recently spoken to Michael Foley to come forward.
