Man dies from injuries days after being shot in Co Wicklow

A man has died days after being shot in an incident in Co Wicklow.

The incident took place at Bellevue Hill in Delgany on the afternoon of Thursday December 14.

The injured man, in his 40s, sustained a number of gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead in hospital on Tuesday December 19.

A post-mortem examination is expected to determine the course of the Garda investigation.

An appeal for witnesses is continuing, particularly for information on a 2007 black Ford Focus.

Gardai have asked for information about its movements on December 14 between 3pm and 5pm in the Delgany area, specifically between Bellevue Hill and Kindlestown Woods car park.

An incident room has been established at Greystones Garda Station and the investigation is being led by a senior investigating officer (SIO).
