Temperatures have been forecast to drop to -2 degrees in parts of the country as Met Éireann warns of icy patches and fog.
Tonight will be mostly dry with clear spells, according to Met Éireann, although isolated showers will feed in from the north.
It is expected to be cold and frosty, with icy patches possible, as temperatures fall to between -2 and +2 degrees.
Patches of mist and fog will form in light northerly or variable winds.
Any mist and fog will gradually clear on Tuesday morning and it will be a mostly dry day with spells of sunshine.

There will be some scattered showers, mainly in the north and east. Highest temperatures of 4 to 9 degrees in a light, variable wind can be expected on Tuesday.
It is forecast to be cold with some widespread frost throughout the week.
