An EU regulation requiring Ireland to issue digital Covid-19 certificates has expired.
The EU Digital COVID Certificate Regulation - which began on July 1, 2021 - officially expired on June 30, 2023.
Certificates for negative tests - both PCR and antigen - or as evidence of recovery will no longer be issued.
However, the Health Service Executive (HSE) will continue to issue people with proof of Covid-19 vaccination after their vaccine.

The HSE has also retired the Covid Tracker App, which was used to support Ireland's contact tracing system and allowed users to display their Covid vaccination certificates at services such as restaurants and bars.
According to the HSE, over 2 million people in Ireland used the app during the pandemic.
