There is no money or resources available for a new car park in Naas.

That’s according to Kildare County Council, which was responding to a request by Cllr Evie Sammon for a park and stride in an area that would allow access to the Sallins Road and the canal road.

Park and stride refers to  leaving the car about a ten minutes walk away from the school gate and for people to walk the rest of the journey.

KCC engineer Donal Hodgins said the planning and design of a new car park in Naas is not included in the plan for works and there are no staff resources available to progress such a project.
