The aftermath of the fire
Craddockstown Golf Club has reopened after a fire caused extensive damage to the pro shop.
Firefighters from three stations fought a blaze at the Blessington Road, Naas, premises on May 14.
The first personnel to arrive at the scene came from the Naas station and were there shortly before 4.45pm, twelve minutes after being notified.
A total of six vehicles attended the scene, including two water tankers.
A hydraulic platform was deployed overhead and this allowed personnel to prevent the fires moving across the entire roof structure.
The blaze was brought under control at 5.50pm.
Club lady captain Ursula Ellard told the Leinster Leader that the proshop has been relocated to relocated to the clubhouse downstairs.
She added that clubhouse catering is continuing as usual and proshop goods can be ordered and delivered.
Competitions as well as the activities of societies who use the club facilities are unaffected.
