A woman alleged that her husband raped her three times in the past year.

She made the claim at a Naas District Court sitting and further alleged that he has psychologically and emotionally abused here.

The court was also told that he had attacked her child “because the child tried to protect me.”

She added: “He was abusing me and roaring at me.”

The woman said she was afraid to approach the gardaí and went to a sexual assault treatment unit and was awaiting to be interviews by a garda attached to a Divisional Protection Services Unit, which investigates specialised crime categories,  including sexual crime.

“He said he would kill me and take me to a taxidermist,” she told Judge Desmond Zaidan.

It was also stated that the man has previously been incarcerated and she is terrified and thinks he will kill her.

“He's unhinged,” she claimed.

She told of one occasion when she went out and “had a lot to drink '' and he tried to have penetrative sex with her.

He also said to her “you are dead to the world, aren’t you.”

She also said he had admitted to this to a relative of his and she said that a younger child sleeps with her.

She said the marriage had broken down, she is not in a relationship and won’t be “because of the psychological damage I’ve suffered.”

Judge Zaidan said he would grant an interim barring order and adjourned the case. He said the gardaí should serve the document on the man, who was not present for the court hearing, by the gardaí and they should act sensitively.
