Man arrested after fight erupts in Naas Courthouse

A man who urinated in a garda station cell was prosecuted at Naas District Court.

Gerard Molloy, 34, whose address was given as 38 Loughlion Green, Kildare town was prosecuted for urinating in the cell at the garda station in Kildare town on January 25, 2022.

He was also prosecuted for a breach of the Public Order Act on the same date at Loughlin, Kildare.

Sgt Mary Meade told the court that the cost of cleaning the cell came to €340.

The court was also told that the defendant has 85 previous convictions, including 35 under the Public Order Act.

Defending solicitor Tim Kennelly said the defendant has an issue with alcohol.

Judge Desmond Zaidan imposed two fines totalling €750.
