Kildare County Council asked to take popular walking route in charge

Kildare County Council has been asked to take the  River Liffey Walk in Ballymore Eustace in charge.

This would mean that the council would be responsible for carrying out any necessary infrastructural work there.

The request came from Cllr Evie Sammon who was told that the council has “no objection in principle to taking this section of the walk in charge.”

But before that can happen, the site would have to be assessed to ascertain the extent of works required and the cost involved. It was also pointed out by KCC that money will have to be found for this because it’s not covered in the existing  budget.
