Kildare playground may be moved

Monread Park playground is to move location

The playground at Monread Park

The public playground at Monread Park in Naas may be moved to another location in the park..

This emerged as Cllr Evie Sammon asked Kildare County Council to “address ongoing antisocial behaviour issues at Monread playground.”

KCC official Simon Wallace replied that there have been no recent reports of antisocial behaviour in Monread Park.

He also said any issues will be discussed with local gardaí. 

He added: “We will also reexamine the maintenance of the playground and cleaning in relation to debris as a result of any antisocial behaviour.”

He said the relocation of the playground to provide more passive supervision will be  considered as part of developing a masterplan for the park.
