KILDARE: Volunteers are needed for Naas Tidy Towns

Naas Tidy Towns man to run in council election

Bill Clear

Naas councillor Bill Clear has been announced as the new Chairperson of Naas Tidy Towns. Cllr Clear has been involved in Naas Tidy towns for 20 years both as a volunteer and committee member.

He added that Naas Tidy Towns are always looking for new volunteers so anyone interested in becoming involved is asked to contact the group if they want to get involved.

Commenting on his election as chair Cllr Clear said: "I am honoured to have been selected as chair of such an amazing organisation.  Naas Tidy Towns is a group of volunteers and committee members who work very effectively as a team. We are all friends sharing a common interest in keeping Naas tidy and a beautiful place to live in.  After the great success of  winning the  Irish Business Against Litter award twice in 2021 and 2022  we know we have the winning formula.”

He said Naas is one of the best performing towns in the national Tidy Towns competition and the group is  determined to win it.

“If we could resolve  the large derelict site on the approach from the Dublin direction  to Naas and commence the long awaited development of the shopping centre, I'm confident this would propel Naas  to win the competition.  I want to recognise all the volunteers and Kildare County Council and their hard working employees for all their help to the group.”

Naas Tidy Towns are always looking for new volunteers so please contact us if you have some spare time.
