A Status Yellow snow ice warning is in place across Ireland until 10am on Monday morning.
Met Eireann is warning it will be very cold with icy patches and lying snow. Further snow showers will occur with these mainly affecting parts of Leinster and Munster.
This will result in slippery paths and roads due to accumulation of ice on untreated surfaces.
Overnight temperatures will fall between 0 and minus 3 degrees.
However, Monday is expected to be a dry, bright day with temperatures between three and five degrees.
Gardai have warned motorists to be aware of local driving conditions before setting out on their journeys.
Kildare County Council snow ploughs have been out today, Sunday, and main routes in the county are passable.
