Kildare County Council (KCC) has said that it is satisfied with the connectivity links to a housing estate located in the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District (MD).

The comments were relayed to councillors present at the latest MD meeting, which took place on Wednesday, March 20 last

At this meeting, Fine Gael Cllr Paddy Curran (who is also the Cathaoirleach / Mayor of the MD) asked KCC to provide an update on the pedestrian entrances into Temple Mills Estate in Rathangan.

In response, KCC said via its report at the meeting: "Road Design in KCC have reviewed the permeability / connectivity links onto Bourne’s Lane from the development site known as Temple Mills and are satisfied that the links have been installed at the correct locations.

"However, the developer (Thoval Properties) has been requested to submit a compliance submission, in accordance with condition 17 of 16/955, which should detail a design for permanent pedestrian barriers within the estate, at these pedestrian access points.”

KCC continued: "This correspondence is available for inspection on the planning file and it was issued to Thoval Properties on August 4, 2023.

"Development Control contacted the developer in October 2023 and again in March 2024 via email regarding the outstanding compliance submission and await a response from the developer," KCC concluded.
