Carbury village unhappy

The residents of Carbury are unhappy at the state of the village following the construction of the new R402 which has bypassed it.

At a meeting last Tuesday of Clane Area Committee Cllr. Brendan Weld called for a plan to improve access to the village. Council officials explained that works in the village are progressing and should be “substanitally completed” by the end of March. They accepted that there was “a level of inconvenience” but added that it was “unavoidable”. Our picture, taken last Friday morning, shows the state of the street in the village.
