Drugs seizures in Kildare and Monasterevin - man charged

One man has been charged in relation a drugs find. Another man has been released.
Kildare Gardai have charged a 25 year old man in relation to drugs seizures last night.

Kildare Gardai have charged a 25 year old man in relation to drugs seizures last night.

He was one of two men arrested as part of two searches conducted in houses last night in Bishopsland and Monasterevin.

Earlier today, Saturday, April 19, Gardai reported seizing a large quantity of drugs in the Bishopsland area of Kildare town yesterday evening, April 18.

It was one of two houses in the county searched by Gardai that night.

As part of an ongoing operation by Gardai attached to the Kildare Crime/Drugs Unit assisted by the Regional Support Unit a house at Bishopsland was searched and cocaine with a street value of €60,000, cannabis herb with a street value of €20,000 and E tabletswith a street value of €10,000 were discovered.

All values for the drugs are subject to analysis.

One 25 year old man was arrested and was detained at Newbridge Garda Station.

Later on in the evening of the April 18, Gardai searched a dwelling at Bell Harbour, Monasterevin and discovered an estimated €10,000 worth of cannabis resin.

One male was arrested there and detained at Newbridge Garda Station.

That second male has been released without charge.

The first, the 25 year old, will appear before Court number 2 at the Criminal Courts of Justice, Park Gate St, Dublin 7 tat 4pm this afternoon.
