Glanbia has applied for permission for major works in Ballitore.
The company submitted a planning application to Kildare County Council on 21 June. The proposed plans involve the demolition of a two storey office building near the site entrance to make room for an extension to the filling hall. The extension will be around 390 square metres and 9.5 metres high at its highest point.
A new office block will be constructed, with changing rooms measuring 140 square metres on the ground floor and 120 square metres of office space above.
A new IT room will be built near the existing carton store. Glanbia submitted a Natura Impact Statement with its application, a copy of which can be purchased from the Planning Authority. Kildare County Council will accept submissions until 25 July and a decision is due by 15 August.
