No project approved at Intel

INTEL Ireland has confirmed to the Leader that no project has been approved by the company, in the light of a major planning application by the company.

INTEL Ireland has confirmed to the Leader that no project has been approved by the company, in the light of a major planning application by the company.

Spokesperson Orla O’Hehir said: “No project has been approved and no investment decision has been made and this strategic planning application does not imply any certainty of any decision being made in Ireland’s favour.”

Ms. O’Hehir said planning applications are part of Intel’s regular business practice to ensure that the company is prepared and ready for the various ‘what if’ scenarios which arise from time to time.

She added that “planning applications in Ireland can take some time to make their way through the planning process and so we pro-actively make applications to ensure we remain strategically positioned for investment decisions on future potential projects.”
