Tattoo artist Aisling Mahon and cancer survivor Aisling Coffey
A Kildare cancer survivor, who was left without a nipple after breast cancer treatment, has appeared on RTE.
Aisling Coffey spoke to reporter Eleanor Higgins about getting a areola reconstructive tattoo from Newbridge tattoo artist, Aisling Mahon.
Aisling underwent a mastectomy and breast reconstruction in 2013. She received a tattoo of her nipple as part of her breast, but wasn't happy with it.
"You just don't look in the mirror, you don't want to see the scar, because it's there then the reminder constantly", Aisling told RTE.
Aisling said the areola reconstructive process helped her look in the mirror again.
