Forget your quick in-and-out take-away – McDonalds is bringing a dining experience more usually seen in upper crust restaurants to Naas.

The Naas Drive Thru outlet in Monread is one of just 12 McDonalds across the country which has been chosen to trial its new table service.

Hungry Kildare diners, more accustomed to a McDonald’s ‘grab and go’  burger, will no longer have to stand in line at the busy counter inside the restaurant.

Instead, they can choose their food using a self-service kiosk, pay by card and then take a seat. Their food will be cooked to order and delivered to their table by a staff member when it is ready.

McDonalds hopes to appeal to busy parents juggling kids and shopping bags with the new service.

It plans to roll out table service to its 90 restaurants nationwide over the next year and a half.
