Kill Tidy Towns volunteer Joan Kerr gets community hero award

Joan Kerr of Kill Tidy Towns yesterday received a SuperValu Community Hero award to honour her commitment to the community.

Ten Tidy Towns volunteers nationwide were honoured for their outstanding contribution to their local area through their involvement in the annual competition.

The award was presented by Martin Kelleher, managing director of SuperValu.

The Helix in Dublin was yesterday packed with TidyTowns groups from all over the country present for the awards ceremony.

Straffan took top prize in the Kildare section of this year’s Tidy Towns competition.
