Kildare tenor Philip Scott will sing at Saturday night's ceremony
The annual Hope(D) Light up the Skies event will take place in Kildare town this year on Saturday, September 10, to mark World Suicide Prevention Day.
‘Connect, Communicate, Care’ is the theme and Hope(D) points out these three words are at the heart of suicide prevention.
“Please join us as we host this symbolic evening gathering in unity to honour and remember our lost loved ones,” said Derek Lahart of Hope(D)
“People all over the world will gather together to mark this world event.”
The ceremony starts at 8.30pm at the Carmelite Church with mass and a candlelight procession.
Kildare tenor, Philip Scott, will take part in the ceremony.
All are welcome and light refreshments are available after the ceremony.
Biodegradable balloons will be provided to be released at 10pm.
