Gardai in Athy, Co Kildare are investigating a burglary at Athy Town AFC in Aldridge Park on Monday, March 30 2026.
Details of the crime were relayed to Kfm host Hannah Kelly by Gda Aidan McGuane of Maynooth Garda Station on Kfm's Crime Slot section yesterday (April 15 2026.)
According to Gda McGuane, the culprit entered the clubhouse by forcing open the front door and once inside carried out a substantial amount of damage to the property.
As well as damage caused to vending machines, a number of CCTV cameras were broken, with total damages estimated at over €5,000.
Investigations are ongoing, with gardai seeking the assistance of the public who may have seen suspicious activity around Athy Town AFC on March 30.

Speaking of the incident, a garda spokesperson stated: “Gardaí are investigating a burglary at a soccer club in Aldridge Park, Athy Co. Kildare that occurred between the hours 9:00pm on 30th March, 2025 and 10:00am on the 31st March, 2026.
“Investigation is ongoing.”
