Kildare woman told 'her car and house would be burned after teen demanded €1,500'

A man threatened to burn a woman’s house and car over a drug debt, it was alleged at Naas District Court.

Jamie Murphy, 19, whose address was given as 9 Hillview, Rhode, is being prosecuted for making a threat to damage a house and a car at an address in the Morell area of Naas on February 4, 2024.

The defendant appeared in court and it was alleged by Detective Garda Conor Boyle that he called to the address demanding €1,500 as a drug debt from the mother of the person who allegedly owed money.

The case was adjourned to April 21, 2026, by Judge Desmond Zaidan.
