A garda spokesperson stated: “While families head off for a well-earned break, some drivers are still taking reckless, illegal chances on our roads.
“Every Disqualified Driver, every uninsured vehicle, every unaccompanied learner driver, is a risk — not just to the driver, but to innocent road users.
“There are no “days off” when it comes to road safety. No matter the day. No matter the hour.
“Our efforts are relentless. If you’re getting behind the wheel: Ensure you are there legally.
Road safety is everyone’s responsibility.”
