Members of the Kildare Carlow Garda Division will today take part in National Slow Down Day, a nationwide campaign aimed at speeding drivers.
Gardaí will be carrying out enforcement actions for 24 hours, from 7am to 7am.

A garda spokesperson said of the campaign: “This campaign is about one simple message: Slow Down. Save Lives.
“Speeding reduces your reaction time, increases stopping distance, and makes collisions more severe.
Obey the speed limits
Adjust your speed for weather and road conditions
Be mindful of pedestrians, cyclists and other road users
Allow extra time for your journey
“Let’s work together to keep our roads safe across Kildare and Carlow.
A few seconds saved is never worth a life lost."
