Castlewarden Golf Club have announced the commencement of major clubhouse improvements at its location just off the N7 Naas Road at Exit 6 in Co.Kildare.

The project includes the construction of new shower and toilet facilities, along with a comprehensive upgrade of the clubhouse roof. These works form part of a major capital development programme following and are scheduled to be completed over the coming months.

Speaking about the development, Club President Tom MacHale said it is great to see construction underway following a very successful fundraising initiative. He noted that the project will further enhance the club’s excellent facilities and ensure an even more enjoyable post-round experience for both members and visitors playing the club’s impressive 18-hole parkland course, which continues to receive widespread praise from golf societies and visiting golfers alike.

Plans are also in place to renovate the restaurant and bar later in 2026 once the current structural works are complete.
While these works are ongoing, careful arrangements have been put in place to ensure there is no disruption to the golf course or to play for members, competitors, and visitors.

Membership opportunities at Castlewarden Golf Club are currently in full swing, with a range of attractive joining packages available and no joining fee.

Lady Captain Ann Marie Pryal reports that ladies’ golf at Castlewarden continues to go from strength to strength.

The 2025 Getting into Golf programme was very successful, 35 women participating and 22 joining by year end. Castlewarden continues to attract a wide age profile, with many participants availing of lifestyle membership options, while several second-year participants progressed to full membership. Current indicators suggest further growth, with additional members expected to join.

A fully stocked pro shop and the support of experienced PGA professional Brian and his assistant Ryan, Castlewarden provides everything golfers need to develop their game.
