An online group dedicated to one County Kildare town has teased its 2026 iteration of 'March Madness', a competition that highlights local businesses.

Newbridge Co.Kildare Residents Community Forum, also simply known as Newbridge Forum, is a Facebook page that concerns all things related to Newbridge, and currently has over 36,100 members.

According to one admin of the group, Catherine Connolly, the page "is a very safe and informative place to be".

Explaining the upcoming competition, Catherine Connolly, who is not to be confused with the current President of Ireland, told the Leinster Leader: "We are going to do 'March Madness' again this March 1 to March 31, 2026 — we are launching our request asking for businesses to come on board, and we have been inundated with vouchers and deals and really, really good prizes!"

She also outlined examples of local businesses involved in this year's 'March Madness', such G Sports, who have offered a €500 kit for a school in the community, and vouchers provided by Sheds First, ASAP Blinds, and a number of local restaurants.

Catherine also explained the way 'March Madness' works: "We post the business at 9am in the morning with their prize, and members like, share, tag and follow the business page.

"Then, all day, they have the platform to put up their socials, promotions, deals and so on, and then, at 7pm.

"Following this, we go live on Facebook each night and spin a wheel with all of the entrants who have done all the steps correctly to enter. The prize is then allocated.

"It created such a buzz last year and a lot of the businesses were very glad to have it it gave such a boost to Newbridge for the month of March."

Catherine added: "We love hosting the competition  it involves myself, Mark, Kellie and our new moderator Jen, who is settling in nicely to all the madness in general of the group."

The Forum can be accessed here.
